It is reported that after the integration, Ali will implement the cloud integration, self-research and ecological combination strategy in the chip field, and the newly established chip company mainly conducts AI chip and embedded chip research and development work in the early stage.

The new AI chips developed after integration will be available in the second half of 2019, and will be applied to Ali's data centers, urban brains and autonomous driving scenarios. In the future, it is possible to open to the outside world through Ali Cloud, and use AI technology for speech recognition and image recognition functions in the cloud.

According to the introduction, the name "crew head brother" is another name for honey Badger, and the name of the new company mainly focuses on the three characteristics of honey Badger: passion, fearless and smart, which is also Ali's expectation of the semiconductor company.

At present, the number of Damo Institute team is close to 100 people, members have worked for Intel, Nvidia, AMD and other semiconductor giants, after the integration, the newly established Pingtou Brother Semiconductor Co., Ltd. employees are expected to be about 200 to 300 people.
